| | How it is that I'm up at 4:25 in the morning (or, simply, How My Mind Works)...
So I can't sleep tonight for whatever reason, chalk it up to jet lag or the fridge/freezer raid at 1 am that turned up a pint of Haagen Dazs...I start getting some ideas for something I want to work on so I turn on my computer (this is around 2:15 am), then I decide to read a fine blog called "Scribblings of a Metropolitician" which discusses life in Korea and a whole lot more. He posted on the Michael Richards tirade and since I hadn't seen it yet, I decide to go over to youtube and check it out, which then causes me to watch the Letterman apology. Then as I'm reading the rest of Metropoltician that I ignored while in China, reading about Korea (and having youtube open) for whatever reason causes me to decide to search for H.O.T, namely the song "Hope" which is a favorite of mine (for its own random reasons). Then I remeber another H.O.T from that period that I haven't heard in a long time and so I decide to search for that, except I don't know the English, Chinese, or (most importantly) Korean name...So I decide to use wikipedia (what did people do 2 years ago?) and find the name, but fail to find any video. Then in my infinite wisdom, I start searching for other Korean music favorites and find myself watching the video of an Uhm Jung Hwa song that I liked, complete with Chinese subtitles. So now instead of having a vague inkling of what the song means, I can actually understand the lyrics. Splendid! That gets me to see if I can find the KTV of the classic Yuki/Yoo Seung Jun song, "Can't Wait." Well, I failed in that quest (at least on youtube), but the idea sparks in me a new search for a variety of Chinese ktvs. When all that's said and done, it is now, well 4:30 in the morning and I've yet to get started on those ideas...wow! |
